Enhance parts of your body with fat transfer surgery

Lamprobe Technique Repairs Blemishes and Unsightly Skin Issues

Many people wish they could snap their fingers and change the shape of their bodies. Maybe you wish your cheeks or lips were a bit fuller (As we age, we lose volume in our faces when our skin starts to sag.), or your chest is flatter than you’d like. At the same time, is your belly is a little rounder than you’d care to see? Your thighs a little too full?

Fat transfer surgery can help, by adding volume where you have fat loss due to aging, surgery or some other trauma, while reducing the amount of fat in other areas that may bother you. It’s also one of the most common methods used for lip enhancement, as it’s a more permanent solution than lip filler.

Your Annapolis Fat Transfer Consultation

It can be hard to clarify on your own what you want from a fat transfer procedure and if it’s the right decision for you. To get the answers you need, start with a consultation at our main office in Annapolis or at one of our satellite offices in Easton or Prince Frederick.

During the consultation in one of our comfortable exam rooms, we’ll review your goals and your medical history. You’ll discuss things like:

  • Your goals. Why do you want to have a fat transfer and what outcome are you hoping for?
  • Your medical history. You’ll talk about things like:
    • Are you taking any prescription or nonprescription drugs and/or herbal supplements?
    • Do you smoke?
    • Have you had any previous surgeries?
  • Your body.
  • The doctor will examine and evaluate the areas of your body that would be changed by a fat transfer.
  • The procedure. You’ll have time to ask whatever you need. We recommend writing down your questions, so you won’t forget anything.

What is fat transfer surgery?

Both of our board-certified plastic surgeons perform the fat transfer procedure in our fully accredited, state-of-the-art, ambulatory surgery center in Annapolis.

Lips and thighs are the most common parts of the body for this surgery, but it can also be helpful for reducing wrinkles and smoothing out the skin on your face. The outpatient procedure is minimally invasive, and typically uses liposuction to remove fat from one area of your body and inject it elsewhere.

If you’re considering a fat transfer surgery, your next step should be a consultation with one of our board-certified plastic surgeons.

After your Annapolis Fat Transfer Procedure: Recovery and Results

Using a cold pack or compress in the first few hours after the procedure can help minimize swelling. Fat transfer is permanent, as long as your weight doesn’t change significantly.

Keep in mind that some people require multiple procedures to achieve the results they desire.
