Reveal the skin you always knew you had with a chemical peel, to restore the sun-damaged, discolored and blemished skin on your cheeks, forehead and/or neck.
What is a chemical peel?
Chemical peels are a safe, painless exfoliation process that removes a micro-thin layer of skin to improve the look and feel of your skin. The new cells that form during the healing process produce plumper, healthier young cells – leaving your skin tighter, smoother, and more youthful looking.

Your Annapolis chemical peel appointment
From the moment you step into one of our treatment rooms at our main office in Annapolis or our satellite office in Easton, you know you’ll be well taken care of. Our highly trained, skilled, caring staff studies your skin closely and consults with you to develop a plan for your specific needs and determine the depth of your chemical peel, which depends upon the condition of your skin and your goals for treatment. Your chemical peel consultation and treatment can be performed on the same day.
Understanding the chemical peel
The chemical peels we offer at our office in Annapolis or our satellite office in Eason, are described below. Most take less than one hour, although deeper peels may take several hours. The process is straightforward: after the skin has been thoroughly cleansed, the peel solution is applied for a short time before being removed.
The Perfect Peel
The Perfect Peel softens wrinkles, fine lines, acne and acne scars and reduces the look of uneven pigmentation and melasma, a darkening of the skin. There’s no special preparation, and the treatment, which takes about 15 minutes, can be done on a lunch hour. There’s no downtime, and you can return to your daily activities right away. However, we recommend you avoid heavy exercise and stay out of the sun until at least the third day after the skin begins to peel.
You’ll see improvement instantly, though, for the best results, we recommend two or three treatments four weeks apart. We also suggest maintenance treatments every three to six months, especially for those with skin conditions like hyperpigmentation.
Obagi Radiance
This quick, easy salicylic acid-based facial chemical peel is suitable for all skin types. It exfoliates and helps improve overall complexion with superficial exfoliation. With little to no downtime, you’ll see tighter, smoother, brighter-looking skin after just one treatment. A series of four to six peels delivers the best overall results and can help improve a range of skin concerns, including photodamage. Obagi Radiance may help darker skin with pigmentary changes.

PSS Perfect 10 Peel
These medical grade treatments are formulated to deliver the desired results. The hallmark of the Perfect 10 Peel is that it provides visible skin peeling after treatment. Within days, skin is smoother and softer with a more even tone.
Body Peel
While chemical peels are most often associated with improving facial skin, body peels are also successful for rejuvenating areas such as the chest, back, arms, hands and legs. Just like a facial chemical peel, a body peel improves skin texture and removes surface irregularities.
Some people benefit from a single body peel treatment while others may need a series of treatments a few weeks apart. These peels are particularly popular for removing age spots, hyperpigmentation, and other evidence of sun damage. A light moisturizing cream helps to minimize peeling and maintain results.
Chemical Peel Recovery and Results
Downtime isn’t usually necessary, but those receiving a deep peel may want to take it easy for an extra day or two. There may be some swelling and redness, which diminishes as skin recovers; your skin’s appearance should continue to improve for the next four to six weeks. After a chemical peel, skin is temporarily more sensitive to the sun, so you’ll want to wear sunscreen daily.
Following a chemical peel, you’ll notice firmer, smoother skin clear of blemishes. You’ll exude a radiance you haven’t seen in years, and you’ll want to look at yourself every time you pass a mirror. Light to medium chemical peels may need to be repeated within a few weeks or months, and deep peels only need to be performed once.
We also offer an extensive line of physician-only products that can be used in conjunction with chemical peels to enhance your overall complexion and self-image. We can talk about including these options when we discuss your treatment plan.
