Summer always ends sooner than most people want it to, but that doesn’t mean a sun worshipper has to give up the beautiful tan they’ve cultivated throughout the warm weather months. Our estheticians at PSS MediSpa are pleased to offer our clients a spray tan in Annapolis MD that helps keep them bronzed until well after Labor Day.
About the PSS MediSpa Spray Tan, Available in Annapolis, MD
Our estheticians use Norvell Spray Tan to help our clients keep their tan long after the beaches have closed. This spray-on formula uses purified water and natural ingredients such as benzoic acid, DHA and botanicals such as aloe vera, cane sugar and potassium sorbate derived from rowan berry oil. These substances not only contribute to tanning but have antimicrobial properties.
Unlike tanning parlors, a spray tan in Annapolis MD doesn’t use ultraviolet light to create a tan. The tan caused by UV light is actually the skin’s reaction to being damaged. The ingredients in Norvell spray tan in Annapolis MD actually protect the skin.
Before the client comes in for their spray tan in Annapolis MD, they should shower and shave their face and body and have a manicure and pedicure. If they exfoliate the skin, this should be done at least 24 hours before the treatment. When clients arrive at the PSS MediSpa office, their skin should be thoroughly dry and free of moisturizer, sunscreen or lotion. They should wear loose-fitting clothes and sandals and leave white clothes, expensive fabrics or jewelry at home.
The esthetician uses a special spray gun that makes sure the solution is applied evenly over the skin . There’s very little excess to clean up, and the solution dries quickly. Consequently, clients can have the treatment on their lunch hour. The session lasts about eight minutes.
Clients stand in a protected area during the treatment. They may be nude or wearing underwear or a bikini. Our estheticians start by spraying the upper back, the back of the legs, the back and front of the arms, then the sides.
The spray is then used on the chest and abdomen, then the front of the legs, the inner thighs and sides of the legs. The hands and feet are then sprayed. Finally, the neck and the face are treated. The neck is one of the last areas to be treated. This prevents streaking as clients are asked to move around to treat other areas of the body. When the face is treated, clients close their eyes and hold their breath for a moment as the spray is lightly applied. The esthetician then uses warm air from a hose to gently dry the tanning solution. If there are any missed areas on the skin, the solution is lightly applied with the spray gun.
Clients are able to see the tan right away. It gradually darkens and reaches its peak after about 24 hours. Depending on the client’s skin type, the tan lasts about a week to 10 days. Moisturizing the skin regularly helps it last. Unlike other tanning solutions, the Norvell spray tan in Annapolis MD doesn’t eventually turn an unattractive orange or yellow.
Clients should avoid wetting the skin for at least 8 hours, and avoid wearing white clothes for at least 24 hours. Also, it’s necessary avoid tight clothing and long immersion in hot water. As always, wear sunscreen when going out in the sun.
